Happy Monday! I’m excited to announce that I’ll be traveling to Vancouver to show my F/W 2016 collection “id.ego.“!
Below is all the info you might need about the event.
March 17, 2016 – Samantha Rei is going fashion forward to the runways at Vancouver Fashion Week (VFW) in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. One of the fastest growing and largest fashion events in North America, the Fall/Winter 2016 collections promise to be as diverse as the countries they come from. VFW has a global reputation for celebrating creativity and talent, and providing a stage for emerging and established local and international designers.
“I view fashion as a story, with each collection and trend a chapter in a book. Fashion and style are the voice you use to tell your story. Clothing is what you wear to keep from getting arrested for indecent exposure.” – Samantha R. Crossland
“I am very excited and looking forward to sharing the stage with our brilliantly talented and creative fashion designers to kick off our 27th season,” says Jamal Abdourahman, producer and founder of Vancouver Fashion Week.
As has been done in years past, we’ll be working with John Fluevog Shoes, this time with their Vancouver location. And in a fun twist we’ll also be partnering the Elixery! This local cruelty-free makeup company is fantastic and the custom colors they’re making for “id.ego.” are amazing. In April we’re planning a release party so keep an eye out for updates.

Samantha R. Crossland began her fashion design career with her label “Blasphemina’s Closet” in 2000. After closing “Blasphemina’s Closet” in September of 2013, she started anew with her new eponymous label “Samantha Rei”. “Samantha Rei” embodies the sweetness, femininity and attention to detail that has come to be expected from the designer. She’s been featured in Huffington Post, Shojo Beat, the American Gothic and Lolita Bible, Gothic Beauty, and was named one of 2014 City Pages “Artists of the Year.” In 2015 she authored and illustrated a how-to book on subculture fashion design called Steampunk and Cosplay Fashion Design and Illustration. Samantha strives to help women feel confident, strong and comfortable in their own skin. She believes they can all be beautiful warriors.
“id.ego” is a journey of self-discovery by a designer who has become known for telling the stories of others. A somber beginning with an enlightened and optimistic finale, this collection showcases both couture elements and easily accessible ready to wear details. Included are sculptured dresses and beautifully tailored separates.
Now entering its 16th year and 27th season, Vancouver Fashion Week is one of the fastest growing fashion weeks in the world – creating a stage for talented local and international designers to reach global markets, fashion media and industry buyers. Since 2001, Vancouver Fashion Week has served as the gateway to designers who aren’t yet able to show in the big events such as London, Paris, Milan and New York, and has helped launch many talents onto the world fashion stage.
